Our
shop is based in what
was a mill
building in the market town of Cleckheaton, once famous for the
Ludites of the 1800's and the more recent Panther motor bike
factory, enthusiasts still meet at the Commercial Public house in
Cleckheaton on certain Sundays in the summer. We are a family
business headed by, brothers in law John Turner and Martyn Banks,
John is married to Martyn's sister Gillian who together with
Marty's wife Marie looks after much of the office work.
Our
extensive
shop are packed with traditional musical instruments and accessories.
You
have a
choice with The Music Room... You can visit us during normal opening
hours and be made most welcome by the staff on the day. We are world
famous for having a kettle that is always on so come and share a
cuppa with us at any time. You could if you prefer wait to see us at
one of the very many folk festivals that we attend each year, setting
up shop in sometimes the most unusual places to be near to where the
Crack of the festival takes place.

are the
biggest traditional music company in West Yorkshire, possibly even in

Republic guitars are here as are squeezeboxes by Baffetti, Pigini and

all our instruments that we undergo stringent set up and testing
procedures by our in house instrument technicians ... these checks
include playing action, intonation and tuning and are carried out at
no extra cost to you.

shop is just
one mile from junction 26 of the M62 on the A638 towards Dewsbury.
From
Junction 26
follow the signs towards Cleckheaton and Dewsbury. On the left hand
side there is a large Victorian stone built Town Hall with the
Yorkshire bank just beyond that. Turn left between the Yorkshire bank
and the Town Hall and park for 4 hours FREE in the car park behind
the Yorkshire Bank. You will see The Music Room from anywhere in the
car park. - It's the big white building with The Music Room
written in 1 meter lettering across it.
