Romanian Violin

Fantastic new European 4/4 violin.

This is a fine quality contemporary violin made in Romania. It features a superb medium grained Carpathian spruce top and a stunning two-piece book matched back in highly figured maple with sides and neck in matching wood. Ebony fingerboard and pegs featuring Parisian eye decorations. Varnished in a warm umber shade over a golden ground.

The workmanship is superb throughout - Crisp lines and a beautiful sense of flow. The F holes are crisp and elegant, the scroll perfectly balanced. The plates are nicely arched and the edge recurve shows a great deal of panache.

All in all, this instrument show all the flair and character of a maker at the height of his powers. It plays evenly in all positions, speaking with warmth, colour and sparkle in all registers. This would be an ideal instrument for a serious student - It's very much conservatoire level and would take the player easily beyond grade 8 and on to orchestral auditions. Very nice indeed.
