Chromatic harmonicas enable the player to perform music in all keys on one instrument. It’s like having 2 two diatonic harmonicas in one, tuned a semitone apart - for example in C and C#. The slide button is pushed in to switch the airflow from one set of holes to the other which raises the pitch of each note by a semitone. By combining these two scales, all 12 notes of the chromatic scale are available (some of them twice), which opens up loads of new musical options to the player. It’s very easy to identify chromatic harmonicas which have a slide button on the right hand side. They are most commonly heard in classical music and jazz, but are also often used in blues, folk music and pop. All chromatic harmonicas feature tempered tuning. This is a really good chromatic harmonica at a great price.Plastic comb and chrome plated covers give this a luxury feeling. It has 48 nickel plated brass reeds. With the addition of a slide button to allow access to even more reed possibilities. This means you can play in any key. Chromatic harmonicas have always been very popular but were always very expensive, that is until now. The Planetone chromatics make a fine quality instrument available to a much wider audience and finally the smooth plated mouthpiece make it a joy to play. This chromatic harmonica is fitted with wind saving valves that seal the reeds not being played to give better airflow and increased response.Supplied in a plush lined deluxe plastic case.
