The Shortcut capo is for example positioned on the 2nd fret. In standard guitar tuning EADGBE. the cut capo covers only 3 strings, 3rd 4th and 5th. In tab it would be : 022200. Giving an effect similar to that of tuning the guitar to DADGAD with actually having the laborious job of re-tuning the guitar.
