A revolutionary new harmonica from Hohner the XB-40 is based on a Knittlinger frame rather than the standard Richter square section chambers. What this means for the player is it allows the control of bending on every note- both suck and blow- using normal Blues Harp Harmonica playing techniques which results in a full chromatic scale throughout.

The range of expression is vastly increased over standard Richter models because of the XB-40’s ability to bend up or down on any note. A previously unheard of level of volume with a full tonality is produced by the patented valve chambers. The XB-40 harmonica does exactly what Hohner wanted it to do. Every note bends at least 2 semitones with 3rd hole draw moving a full 3 semitones just like a standard diatonic.
