The mandocello first became popular in the early 1900's often finding a home in the many mandolin orchestras of the time. It was a natural progression for Eastman to turn its hand to creating this stunning mandocello. The MDC805 displays all of the features that you expect from Eastman quality guitars namely ... all solid wood construction with true hand carved & graduated top & back plates, rich finishes and absolutely stunning tone!
The Eastman Mandocello model 805 features a highly flamed maple back and sides, spirit varnish finish, gold-plated hardware, 3-ply binding on the headstock and body, as well as side binding. This one is tuned as a bouzouki but mandocello tuning is no problem with slightly heavier strings.It can only be appreciated as to how good this instrument really is when you pick it up and play it.Totally hand carved from the finest solid tonewoods this is a unique product and totally exclusive to The Music Room in the UK at this time.
