The Hohner Marine Band 1896 model - ‘the world’s best selling harmonica.’ - was first produced by Hohner in 1896 – hence the code number. The Marine Band harmonica features the traditional design of reed plates nailed to a wooden comb and as such is recognised by many famous players, Little Walter, John Lennon, Paul Butterfield, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and many more as the best there is.
