I bought this concert sized ukulele on the back of its soprano little brother the UK-70 (I've done a review of that one also). I loved the tone of the soprano but I've always preferred the concert sizes. Thinking this would sound similar but in the larger finger I went for it. First off the tone is not as bright in fact its quite mellow but a tad brighter than say a mahogany uke. The action on this concert is much better than the soprano, I lowered it a little more at the nut but it would have sounded fine without doing so. I also replaced the rubbishy GHS strings with Fremont Black line strings. Finally I also replaced the plastic saddle (the white strip that sits in the bridge) with bone to help the sound travel better.
I love this uke if it had come setup with quality string bone saddle and nut I'd have gladly given it 5 stars.
