I visited your shop yesterday - twice, having also visited one of your rivals - intending to buy a concert ukulele. However, casting my eyes over your range of ukuleles, I couldn't resist picking up this beautiful satin finished soprano. I was sorely tempted, but went on to visit your rival who stocks cheaper solid koa ukuleles. Having seen them, I was less than impressed with the quality of workmanship and returned to Cleckheaton with images of this soprano in my head.
Well, having picked it up again and played a few chords, I was entranced by its lovely warm sound. The quality of workmanship is lovely - the only thing I can fault is some slight imperfections in the finish at the base of the back of the bridge - and it took me a long time to find it. The joints are perfect, the binding flawless (and as it appears to be mahogany, all but invisible). The abalone - a bit blingy, perhaps - works due to the satin finish which keeps everything subdued and is wonderful to stroke! Everything is neat and tidy inside, too.
Overall, I would recommend this instrument without reservation to anyone looking for an all solid instrument that is beautifully made, sounds good, has perfect intonation right up the neck and stays in tune!
Wonderful! Buy one today!
